The last game of the season was scheduled for Wednesday, but the rainy weather forced coaches to postpone the game for a week. The rainout didn't dampen team spirits... we headed straight to Mazzio's to CELEBRATE success!! Team trophies for everyone AND the Astros get to play ball together one more time...can't beat it!!
A trophy for Wilson's second baseball season!! Wilson had a super season - he hit the ball hard, he ran the bases well and showed us that he can slide like a pro, and he learned a lot about fielding and catching the ball in order to "make the play!" He is another Bell Boy ball player in the making!!
There was even a trophy for Peyton, our "unofficial" slugger!! At three years old, Peyton hit the ball and ran the bases with the big boys! This season was a great start to what will be an awesome baseball career!!

This will be Dylan's last year in the Little League Rookie division. How wonderful these rookie baseball years have been!! Dylan's baseball skills and love for the game have grown tremendously and we look forward to spending many more years cheering on our All Star Ball Player!!

Thursday evening brought the first of three graduation ceremonies in our family! We were so happy to cheer as Uncle Jerry received his Associates Degree in Computer Drafting from Lamar Institute of Technology. He graduated Suma Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0! It doesn't get much better than that!!
On Friday evening, we celebrated at Aunt Allie and Uncle Jerry's!
It was a backyard barbeque, complete with washers and ladder golf! The "big kids" played washers and we had a fun competing for title of ladder golf champions! Just look at our skills!!
It must have been beginner's luck for Mommy because her team won the first two rounds... first with me and then with Dylan!! Maybe we were her good luck charms!!
The Roughriders and Gladiators played in Spring Fling Tournament at Ford Park. It was the 9U Texas Roughriders first experience in an Elite Division Tournament and we were a little nervous as we started our 3pm game against the Bay Area Knights, but pulled out a 12-7 win! We felt a little better going into our 5pm game against the Chaos from Oragne. The Chaos have played almost twice as many games as we have, but we played a strong game that ended in 8-7 VICTORY! In the last inning we pulled from behind, loaded the bases, and I hit the walk-off sacrifice fly to score the winning run! A proud moment for this Texas Roughrider!!
Dylan's games were played at 6:20 and 7:40. The Gladiators comfortably defeated the Crosby Crushers 16-8, but were unable to pull out a second victory when they played the Texas Tribe, from Lufkin, TX. Sunday play for the Gladiators began at 10am against the Knights from Kingwood. The boys played an exciting "come from behind ballgame" and celebrated a 13-12 victory. The second matchup was against the very strong Texas Tribe and it was very similar to the prior matchup, but this time the Lufkin team held Dylan and his teammates scoreless. Very unusual for this team of hard hitters.
Our Sunday games began at 3pm. Our 2nd seed position allowed us to win only one and then move onto the championship. We were up against the Bay Area Knights again and were played a confident game that they led from the beginning. We never allowed them to control the game, but we were unable to pull ahead and the game ended 12-9. Even tough we were a Select team playing in an Elite tournament, the loss was not an easy one. We were confident that we could have walked away the winners!
Before leaving the ballpark, I wished good luck to my childhood buddy from Round Rock, Brandon Johnson and the Dynasty Black as they entered the Championship game against the Knights. His team pulled out a victory and I was so happy that his team ended out on top!
WHEW! These boys were exhaused after a long day at the ballpark, but they will be ready to do it again next time!! I love these guys so much!!
