I was excited to start my last full week of third grade with a field trip to The Big Thicket! We had a wonderful time exploring the nature and beauty of the trails! The Park Ranger showed us so many amazing things. I really liked it when she picked a pitcher plant and opened it up for us to see the inside! I took lot of great pictures and was happy to get home and share the fun stories of our hiking adventures!!
Wednesday was Langham's last Perfect Attendance Pep Rally of the school year. At the pep rally, Dylan was honored with the Character Counts Award for his class!! Mrs. Reynolds recognized him for his ability to value others as well as his self-control at school... two very wonderful characteristics that make us so very proud of Dylan! What a wonderful honor, what wonderful character traits, and what a wonderful kindergartener!!
Wednesday was also the final Astros game of the season! The boys played like CHAMPIONS!!
Thursday was a very exciting day for us all... Kindergarten Graduation Day for Dylan at Langham AND Pre-Kindergarten Graduation Day for Wilson from Little Wooden Shoes!! Wilson and Peyton started the day with smiles!!
Little Wooden Shoes Class of 2012
Dylan's graduation ceremony was the first for the day! We were so proud to see him walk across the stage!
We loved hearing Dylan's voice as he represented the letter X of the alphabet "X is for extra special kids; it's him, it's her, it's you!"
Here is a picture of Mrs. Reynolds with Dylan and me! Mrs. Reynolds will be retiring after this school year, so Wilson and Peyton will not be lucky enough to have her as their Kindergarten teacher. We are blessed to have had a Kindergarten teacher that was happy to take us in and worked hard to give us all of the knowledge that we need to move successfully into first grade!
Here are the very special people who were there to cheer Dylan on!!
Proudly standing with our graduates!!
Bell Family Class of 2012!
Wilson smiling with his good friend, Madyn Bennett, before the Little Wooden Shoes graduation ceremony!
Wilson with his buddies Parker Johnson and Ayden Sunday after the spectacular ceremony!
Wilson with his sweet friend, Sydney Nicklebur!
The cake was YUMMY!
Smiles from the "faces behind Pre-K Graduation!" Granna, Aunt Allie, and Mommy work very hard to create the graduation ceremony for the Little Wooden Shoes Graduates; and the kids work so hard all year long to get to this very special day!! A special thank you to Granna for taking us in as very young 4 year olds, caring for us, making learning fun, challenging us, instilling a LOVE of learning in each of us, and setting us free as Kindergarten-ready 5 year olds!!
The week wasn't over yet!! On Friday morning, my class enjoyed tasting products of the rain forest. We have been learning about the many wonders of the rain forest and we celebrated the end of our study with a third grade tasting event!! There was papaya, kiwi, mango, coconut, pineapple, plantain, sweet potato, potato, yam, tomato, peanuts, bubble gum, M&Ms, cola, tea, and guava juice to name a few. Needless to say, our plates were FULL!! I liked some items and there were some that I didn't care for! My favorite "first taste" was kiwi. Here I am with my friends Zach Macon, Joey Hebert, and Jonah Culver.
Right after the third grade festivities, Mommy headed over to watch Peyton as he showed off what he had learned at swim lessons! This was his first of two weeks of lessons and he did a fantastic job! Mom said that he has an awesome back float, he is super at swimming and kicking, and he even has a great freestyle swim!! Thumbs up, Peyton!!
After we all got home we kicked off the holiday weekend by playing in our favorite playplace... our backyard!! Wilson had so much fun playing with his new special forces ninja gear that he got as a graduation gift!
Memorial Day and last week of school updates to come soon!!
