First Reconciliation

On Saturday, December 7, Dylan celebrated his First Reconciliation as part of the sacred journey toward his First Communion.  He reverently entered the room to speak with Father Dan about his sins and his intention to better his actions, words, and deeds.  He walked out refreshed and smiling as he lit a candle in honor of receiving his Second Sacrament.  We prayed the "Our Father" together as a family on the altar and then enjoyed time together in the Parish Center.

Granna, Aunt Allie, Sawyer, Mommy, and I were all so very proud to be with Dylan on this special day!  His light in Christ is shining bright!!

Dylan was filled with confidence throughout the day!  It was a wonderful sight to see... his faith, hope, and love for the Lord were apparent before, during, and after the special event!

While we were with Dylan, Ryan and Daddy were in Houston at the Eastern District Soccer Tournament.  Dylan and I got dressed in our Bell soccer gear to support Ryan and his soccer team, BUT given that it was freezing cold and sloppy outside, we decided to stay in Nederland with Aunt Allie and Uncle Jerry!  We supported him in spirit!!

Ryan played hard and really hustled, but his team was overpowered by the Houston teams that they competed against.  The boys never gave up, they held their heads high as they fought to the very end of every game!

 

We were proud of these boys when they walked away victorious every Saturday of soccer season, and we were just as proud of this group as they lost three hard-fought battles in their final tournament.  For the entire season, they played for each other as much as they played for themselves... they were a TEAM! 

At the end of the cold and wet soccer day, Mommy, Ryan, and Peyton celebrated Daddy's 37th birthday with a yummy dinner at Pappasito's Cantina with soccer friends.  It was a small celebration, but we love our Daddy in a BIG way!!
