Thanksgiving began with our annual family lunch at Langham!
On Friday, Mom surprised us by picking us up from school a little early so that we could go to the Bulldog Pep Rally! The Bulldogs were preparing to play the Georgetown Eagles in the second round of the playoffs. After the fight song, school song, and many cheers in between, we were very happy to take a picture with Brandon Dial! Brandon is the senior son of Coach Dial (our Langham PE coach). We thought it was pretty cool that we got to wish him luck before the big game!!
BULLDOGS... Beat those Eagles!!
Thank you, Mommy for taking us to see the Bulldogs before the big game!!
We woke up on Saturday morning, threw on our black and gold, and jumped in the Suburban... we were ready for a trip to Huntsville, Texas to cheer on our Nederland Bulldogs as they played the Georgetown Eagles at Sam Houston State University! We were hopeful that the day would end with a repeat of their first round victory against the Kingwood Park Panthers.
Peyton and Dylan seated themselves on the first row!
D-O-G-G-I-E-S! Come on Doggies, do your best!!
The Bulldog stands were painted black and gold!
Dylan ran into his friend Brady Corcoran, and Griffen Spell came down to our seats for a quick visit!
The Bulldogs were down at halftime, but the fans roared as they ran out to tackle the second half!
Fletcher Berry, Wilson, Peyton, and Brady Corcoran stood til the end!!
B-I-G N-E-D, Big Ned, Big Ned, Let's Go Big Ned... Let's GO!!
The Bulldogs were down 33-7 in the fourth quarter, but that didn't keep these Bulldog boys from smiling, and dreaming of the day that they will run on the field as Bulldog football players!!
Next stop for these Bulldogs... College Station, Texas... home of the Fightin' Texas Aggies! We ate our traditional Aggie family dinner at Rudy's Bar-B-Q!!
A few stunts and a little bit of swimming was a whole lot of fun!
The next morning, we went to visit Papa and Granny. While we were there, Papa showed us the new Wall of Honor in the lobby of Waldenbrooke. We were so proud to see Papa's picture hanging on the wall (bottom row, far left), with so many other dedicated men living in Waldenbrooke who served our country!
We enjoyed a Thanksgiving lunch with our O'Neal Family at The Olive Garden before heading home for Thanksgiving Day!
We got home before dark and threw on our football gear for a front yard football game! We like all of our gear, but we are especially excited about our new Under Armour football gloves. We had fun, but we didn't play too late because we had a race to run on Thanksgiving Day!
We arose bright and early for the Turkey Trot in Downtown Beaumont! It was a cool but beautiful morning... a great day for a run and an even better day to be thankful for our many blessings!!
Mom and I were the first of the Bell Bunch to run. We ran the 5K... my very first 5K! I must admit that I was a little nervous, but definitely excited!
I finished the race in 27:57.1, 17th out of 47 runners in the 10-14 year old male division. I was proud to be the second 10 year old to finish the race! Even though at times it felt like I was really falling behind, I finished 209 out of 930 total racers. Mom finished the race in 27:58.8, 74th out of 565 women racers. She was the 8th finisher in the 35-39 age division. Not too shabby for leisure runners!!
Mom and I were proud of our finish, and we were ready to cheer on Dylan and Wilson as they ran the Kid's 1K Race!
They anxiously awaited the start of the race!
Once the gun sounded, the boys sped to the front of the pack!
I ran alongside Wilson to encourage him as he made his way down the final stretch of the race! He was unstoppable!!
Our little runner finished 5th out of the 44 boy runners! He was the first 7 year-old to finish the race(behind three 9 year-olds and a 13 year old)!! He finished the race in 4:35.5.
Dylan (wearing bib number 2005) finished his race strong too! He was the 8th boy to finish the race... his time was 4:57.8!
We were super proud of the middle Bell Boys!!
We all enjoyed our Turkey Trot! We worked our hardest, pushed ourselves, learned about strength and endurance, and were so very thankful for the fun event and great day with our family!!
After the race, we returned home and enjoyed a delicious meal with our McClenan Family!
A toast to God's blessings!!
After Grandpa sliced the turkey, our plates were overflowing with yumminess!!
We all cleaned our plates, and Peyton came back for more!! He devoured every last bite of the cranberries!!
Aunt Allie and Uncle Jerry stopped by for an evening visit and they brought this sweet little turkey with them! Sawyer was all smiles on her First Thanksgiving!
A little bit later, Uncle Cliff and Aunt Meredith came to visit with Carter and Brenley! These little ladies met for the first time on Thanksgiving Day (Sawyer-5 months and Brenley-9 months), and I am sure that they will be good friends as they grow up!!
