We kicked off Vacation Bible School week in our traditional way... On Monday morning, we stopped by Market Basket on the way to choose the cookies that we wanted to share for snack! We were ready for a great week!!
Ryan and his 5th grade friends, Jonah Culver, Evan Whitehead, Zach Garcia, and Cooper Slott were looking forward to a week of service and spreading God's word!
I was happy to see my 2nd grade buddy, Drew Vannett! Drew goes to school at Taft Elementary in Groves, but he is an "old friend of mine" who graduated from Pre-K with me at Little Wooden Shoes!!
Ayden Sunday and Drew Babin greeted Wilson as he joined the 1st grade bunch!
Peyton joined the Pre-K group and WOW was it a big group!!
He was a little shy at first, but a little hug and encouragement from his big brother Wilson, and he was ready for a fun week!
We started each day of VBS with a session of singing and Jesurcise!! "We will trust, trust in God alone... We will stand strong!" were words that we sang loud and proud!! On the final day, each class performed their own song on the stage in the Parish Center. My class sang "Stand Strong," a song about standing strong for God always... "when life changes... through ups and downs... stand strong and know that God is in control!" I was VERY shy on the stage. I didn't make big motions, but I sang every word! Peyton was the opposite of me on the stage; he was smiling from ear-to-ear and he didn't miss a motion as he proudly sang "I'm in the Lord's Army!"
Wilson's class sang "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! We are going to see the King!" He sang with a big smile on his face and super big motions!!
Ryan's class did not perform a song, instead they told of their daily service projects. On Monday, the 5th and 6th graders studied the lesson for the day and then filled bags with Chex Mix. On Tuesday, they traveled to the Catholic Charities Hospitality Center on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur to share the snacks with those enjoying a meal at the center. On Wednesday, they decorated prayer bags with inspirational messages and filled the bags with healthy snacks. On Thursday, they shared the snacks with people waiting for their loved ones in surgery at St. Mary Hospital. "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything." Philippians 4:6.
We all came together to sing one last time and then we were set free to get in line for a hot dog lunch, complete with lemonade and cookies!
Sawyer LOVED every minute of the event!!

Peyton had fun being in the same class with his friend, Griffen Spell! Peyton was really excited that Griffen would be joining him for Pre-Kindergarten at Little Wooden Shoes in August!! "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105.
Peyton loved spending the week with his Pre-K friends, but he had a blast with his new "best friend" Noah Gregory! His Mom was Wilson's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Gregory. Peyton thought Noah was a super cool kid!
The Bell Boys were proud to stand strong for God! This was such a fun week and we were reminded each day of God's love for us. "I love you Lord: you are my strength." Psalm 18:1
