Both teams played their first game on Friday evening. Here are Ryan and Dylan before their first game of the season!

Friday night was a success for both teams. The Roughriders celebrated a 17-2 victory and the Gladiators beat the Tribe 13-10! We couldn't ask for a better season opener!!
Saturday was St. Patrick's Day! We dressed in our Roughrider green to watch the Roughriders in a 20-5 victory.
Ryan made his pitching debut on Saturday morning! He came in with 2 outs, bases loaded and quickly finished out the inning. Another inning of pitching brought one strike out and no runs scored! We are so proud of our Ryan...

A little rest and then back to the ballpark at 3 to watch the Gladiators. It was a 17-18 loss for the team, but the boys played hard the entire game!!
Sunday was another day of great baseball! The Roughriders won their first game 18-8, but lost a 13-4 battle in the game before the Championship. The boys played great and truly enjoyed their first weekend back on the ball field!!
The Gladiators picked up another win against the Tribe on Sunday afternoon and then moved on to the Championship game. They did not win the final game, but were very proud to be the Runners-Up in their first tournament!
Dylan played behind the plate a little this weekend. He did a great job... he even caught a ball thrown from second to make an out at home!!
Dylan proudly jogging to collect his trophy! His smile made us all so happy, but I think we were more proud of him for telling each member of the winning team "Awesome Job" as they passed for a high five after receiving their trophies... good sportsmanship wins every time in my book!!

Our first weekend of baseball is in the books and what a wonderful weekend it was!
Now it is back to school after a super fun Spring Break! Next weekend will be Nederland Little League Opening Ceremonies, and my turn to begin my second season of baseball! I am excited to be playing with Dylan on the Astros again... PLAY BALL!! -Wilson
